The event
TEDx came back to the University of Northern Iowa for the first time in ten years — and this time it was a signature event of UNI's 150th anniversary celebration.
Under the theme Creating Tomorrow, TEDxUniversity of Northern Iowa filled the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on October 25, 2025. The organizers received 225 speaker applications and narrowed them to 16 talks and performances, with voices from across Iowa and as far as California, Washington, D.C. and Tokyo.
Longtime KWWL anchor Ron Steele emceed the day, Brazilian twin brothers The B2Wins brought the house down, and between sessions guests mingled at TEDx Fest with music, games and interactive exhibits.
